Funny story, Signet.
Summer certainly came in with a bang last night! We had a wild storm with very high winds, lashing rain that came down in torrents and a tornado warning. I went out early this morning to look at the gardens and they came through remarkably well. The peonies are crashed, but once they dry out, they should pop back. I mainly have single flowered peonies, not the big puffy ones, so they tolerate rain quite well. The dust and pollen is all washed off and the garden is looking nice and fresh. The catmints are a little worse for wear and will need to be puffed up given a stake or two. Little Penny's Worth gave me the first daylily bloom of the season this morning. I also noticed a scape on one of my new daylilies (Tennyson) just purchased by mail order this spring
