You all are so kind. I do like the taste. And it was a labor of love-emphasize "labor". But I know why I dislike baking so much. Not only do you have to be exact with the measurements, especially the leavening, but there are so many variables that can affect baked goods. Everything from an uneven oven, to the level of humidity can change things. I always practice when I make something for the first time. I have a few tried and true things that always comes out right. @missingrosie yes! I would love to add your forgiving bundt recipe to my collection.

And the dishes! Measuring cups, and spoons, liquid measure, bowls, beaters, spatulas, spoons, cake pan, cookie sheet to catch the mess, cooling rack, serving plate, parchment, foil, spaghetti ( Rolling on the floor laughing ), what a mess. I think I'll stick with cooking and a little of this and a little of that. And a pot.

Once many years ago I got a recipe for delicious cut out cookies. But my dough turned out wet. By the time I added enough flour to work with it the cookies came out tough. So my neighbor who gave me the recipe came over to watch what I did wrong. I made three batches in front of her. I did nothing wrong. That is just what happened at my house with each and every batch! I never made those cookies again.

Once at Christmas time I vowed to make the perfect Chocolate Cookie. With the help pf Baking911.com (yes there is a site for Bakers like me!) I used many popular recipes. Soften the butter, kept the butter firm, refrigerated the dough, didn't refrigerate, used large eggs, used medium eggs, room temp. eggs, cold eggs, sifted the flour, didn't sift the flour, middle of the oven, back of the oven, . All and I mean ALL my attempts failed. Flat thin cookies, tough cookies, dry cookies, gooey cookies. Sighing! Picky! Picky! Picky baking!!! No worries. I don't need the calories.

And I can't make Jell-O either! I am the joke of my family where a Jell-O dessert can be found at almost every gathering. I think they do that to taunt me. I have received countless Jell-O recipe books. I just give them away.

But! This girl can COOK!!! Thumbs up
