I tried that with some thick-plastic canisters for Metamucil fiber. Very thick, solid plastic.

Then I got lazy when I saw a set of mini-blinds in a trash can. I took them home, curt the mini-blind slats away from the string, cut them to length and made points. Now I have a several-lifetime-supply. (I think that having hundreds of nearly-identical small things (tied together in neat bundles of similarly-sized stakes) scratches some kind of an OCD-itch I have.)

I use mechanical pencils for marking rather than Industrial Sharpies. My handwriting stinks, and a wide nib makes it unreadable.
