My father was very I'll this past winter so I stayed with him for several months, and my White Bird of Paradise paid the price of my neglect of my home. It was about 3 feet tall... pretty new. It died away to nothing... all leaves dead.
I cut the plant off about an inch over the soil. I repotted it in a pot with better drainage. The roots have no rot at all and are not dried out. The bulblike parts of the roots had "snap" to them.
Where do I go from here? The compost pile or is there anything I can do to bring this poor plant back? Are birds of paradises bulb plants that will regrow even of there are no leaves? Thanks for any and all help.
