Mine did that the first couple years that I had it. Guess it was just "growing pains" and who knows what all, but it has been a blooming fool for the last couple of years. It was pretty well established, and in April I had to "exhume" it and move it to a new place. The root system must have been immense, as there was NO way I could dig it up. I had the Spousal Unit dig it out with the bucket of the loader tractor. I didn't know where I was going to plant it, so I stuffed the whole roots system and some soil into a 20 inch pot. About 3 weeks later I planted it where I figured it would do good. I wasn't expecting much this year, with all that upheaval and root "re-arrangement", but it's taken off, grown lots on the obelisk I have for it to climb on, and blooming lots.
To answer your question...........I can't.
Just that mine had the same thing but doesn't any more.
