Roots coming out of a drain hole are not a reliable indicator of a plant's needing a larger pot. If you are having trouble keeping the soil properly moist without watering every few days, then It may be time to move it into a pot one size larger. If the soil stays moist for 5 days or more, then it is probably best to leave it alone for now.
