Have you considered looking around for high school kids looking for summer jobs? You could probably get them to cut the tall weeds with a weed eater for rather less than hiring a professional. I personally would do that, then spray the area with a weed killer with extended control. That buys some time to decide what you really want to do, while getting rid of the fire hazard.
