Hybrid epi fruit are like mini dragon fruit,(Hylocereus). most of the red and pink blooming types have nice tasting fruit,a bit like kiwi fruit,most of the white,yellow and purple bloomers taste too much like fejoias for my taste. All are edible.
Mike, your 7 of 8 yr old new plants should produce blooms any time soon,hang in there.
If you are planning to live to 120 and breed a blue epi...good luck!
