Celebrating Gardening: 2015
I am not an orange lily fan at all but growing up as child my dad was a mechanic by day and a gardener by night and he truly loved orange lilies of all types..... I find they are my strongest lilies of all of them here.........no matter the cultivator or type they appear to have the thickest stems and most flowers...... Noticed this at my other house too...... My Dad always said Orange was vivid and alive in the bed..................
so planted some in memory of Dad and glad I did..... I love him many years ago but going out and seeing them bloom is such a great memory....

also Regale Album for some reason did not come up this year but noticed a couple of them in another bed............that were not planted there. A couple of blooms but none the less they are blooming.....first year'
also a couple of Regale are doing great in strange beds they were not planted in as well...........a couple of blooms only but yet they are blooming..........

a lot of the trumpets are not coming up this year that are new bulbs and planted too deep I think and mulched too much but on the other hand...........maybe they can work on the bulbs better for next year this way.

The hummingbird was here last night for 20 minutes on the orange lilies and that would have made my Dad very happy. He loved them. Also had quite a few painted ladies visiting them ........and they are nice to see to.....

so not all is lost
some OT's for sure and I fact lots f OT's and some other lilies are burnt off this year. But at least they are perennial and come back next year........

Lankon and Leslie Woodruff are going to make the best presentation this year and I love both of them as well...........a bit off blooming yet though
