Note re. pricing... I am giving prices per 5 or per 25 to help people make ordering decisions... but if it says "box of 75 " or "bag of 150," that's how many we have to order
as a group in order to get them.
September isn't the best time to plant bearded irises... better to have 6 to 8 weeks of good growing weather for them to root in before cooler weather, or they tend to heave out of the ground during freeze/thaw cycles. If you want cheap bearded irises, look for one of the FSK iris society rhizome sales this month... I need to check the dates on them, myself. :-)
OK.. still trying to confirm a time, probably 8 to 12 or 9 to 12... but
the rhizome sale at Dutch Plant Farm is Saturday July 16. there's another sale THIS Saturday (July 9) but I'm not sure where -- it used to be at Watson's in Lutherville MD but they went out of business this spring.
Lisa, Thanks for going in on some Leucojum.
I love the Muscari 'Dark Eyes'-- they just have a little more oomph than the straight species.
I'll look up more prices when I have my arm in the machine tomorrow morning... in general, you can expect wholesale to be 1/3 of retail. The onlyadr price so far that seemed a little high to me when I clicked on it was on saffron crocus, at nearly 30 cents per bulb... but I'm not sure what those are retailing for recently.
