Yes, that is a completely normal pattern on your squash leaves. Some varieties have this mottled pattern and some don't. I think it looks pretty.

Probably the SVB did get into that stem. Sometimes injecting BT works. You can also spray it as a preventative all around the stem and interior of the plants.
