Having problems with sweet peppers this year.
Growing in south facing bed, a little midday shade from neighbor's tree. Last time peppers (and tomatoes and eggplant) were grown here was 3 years ago. Compost added in the spring and tilled in.
Carmen peppers plants that have been losing curling leaves. These plants have grown at least, despite being nearly decapitated by hail in early May. Not setting fruit either. These plants I started indoors.

Golden Star - another variety I started. Plant has barely grown in height from planting. Also showing leaf curling and drop.
Big Red - purchased this plant to replace some lost in the hail. Once again, nearly no upward growth.
Not showing Big Bertha (I started, nearly no upward growth) and Ace (purchased, the only bell pepper taller than 8 inches). Jalapeno and habanero plants right next to them (hail survivors) are growing well and blooming. Tomatoes and eggplants (also hail survivors) are growing very well in the same plot.
Any ideas?
