Hello, i have a rather large Roma tomato plant in a decently big pot (i don't have another pot or a garden) on my porch. the problem with it is that the pot has 5 holes at the bottom for draining. Lately, as the plant keeps getting larger, it can't retain enough water to last a full day without watering and becomes. We left for a day and a half and when we came back yesterday night, the plant had wilted massively and I lost a large branch with a few good tomatoes on it.

I was able to re hydrate the plant by watering a few times and putting the pot in a food container so the water drains in the container instead of the ground. Sadly, the branch fell off this afternoon, It is now in a mason jar as I try to save it.

Do you guys have any tips to help the plant to retain moisture without me having to transplant it into another larger pot? Do you guys thing that the container will help?
Also, it is possible to save my branch if I put it in a smaller pot that I still have laying around from when I first planted it.
