TY, Donna! I do see a resemblance. The little sprout seemed way too sturdy when I gave it a slight tug to let it grow just for the purposes of composting, so it's been yanked. The thought of having to get shovel involved to remove something I didn't pull when it was easy to do so was compelling. Sorry if that takes some of the entertainment value away from this as discussion for ID, no possible updates or other pics. Prob better mark it solved.
