He wasn't nice enough to offer to crawl under the mobile home to do the repair himself so DD and I took a crash course in the internet and will be outside repairing plumbing today.
Wish us luck.
Hopefully I can get to the yard work tomorrow.
Ouch! I hope that goes okay for you and DD, Greene! We are on an aging township water system, which has developed many water line breaks over the past 10 years or so; unfortunately -- or maybe fortunately, IMO -- the township ordinance doesn't allow a homeowner to make their own repairs, we have to hire an "approved contractor." Our water line broke about 8 years go, about halfway between our house and road (we are responsible for repairs to anything between the road and the house), and that kind of gave us a clue why most houses are much closer to the road than ours is
. The upside was, we didn't have meters at that time, so no hassle about getting the excess water usage forgiven...
With regard to moles -- our cat, Ziggy (my avatar photo) seems to be on a mission to eliminate all star-nose moles from the earth. We had never heard of those things until they started showing up dead in our yard... and if anyone here is watching the TV show "Zoo," they are the critters at the "end of the tunnel"
. Anyway, the poor little ugly things must pretty much live in the woods, because we've certainly never had issues with them in the garden.
