My soil is probably neutral or just slightly acidic. Gentle Shepherd does very well for me though it was slow in getting established. This is its third year and it has formed a nice clump. I don't give it any fertilizer, just shredded leaves. So sorry to hear that it does not do well for you Sue, Maurice, Elena, and Marilyn.
