21) JUNGLE BEAUTY x BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS 01-Aug-15 03-Oct-15 08-Oct-15 6 D $3 SOLD
I made this cross again earlier this year, too, because I think it has a lot of potential. Jungle Beauty has a LOT of pigmentation and is about as black as daylilies get (this photo doesn't do it justice in the least). If you like green throats, you'll love that Jungle Beauty also has a VERY green throat, too. Beautiful Edgings brings the edges to the table and, now that the genetics have been married into these seeds, I would hope that they would turn out a range of pink and purple babies (maybe even red), with beautiful edges and maybe even some ruffling. Both plants have different textures to their petals, but both have good petal substance. Beautiful edgings is more ridge-y and textured, whereas Jungle Beauty seems to be somewhere between more velvety and more waxy. Jungle Beauty also has very strong branching and budding habits. A great set of parents with a lot of potential and possibilities for their offspring. There's "beauty" in both of their names, which really says it all. Rolling my eyes.

22) JUNGLE BEAUTY x HEAVENLY ANGEL ICE 14-Aug-15 14-Oct-15 25-Oct-15 15 D $7 SOLD
See the above description for Jungle Beauty. I matched her with Heavenly Angel Ice because HAI brings a beautiful, ruffled, spidery look to the mix. HAI is a cascade of ribbony petals, as well as lots of buds and branching (which Jungle Beauty also has). I would expect some pretty lavender UFO's from this one.

23) LIBBY'S TRAIL x FUNNY VALENTINE 17-Jul-15 17-Sep-15 01-Oct-15 6 T $5 SOLD
As you can see from the picture, Libby's Trail has a beautiful, yellow, bubbly (sometimes almost toothy) edge. The blend of the yellow throat into the pink petals almost glows. Her scapes are very strong and the foliage is a good color. Libby's trail seems to be a tough-to-find, uncommon cultivar, so it's nice to have her in our garden and to be able to offer seeds from her. Funny Valentine also has great color to the leaves and excellent red color to the bloom. The goal with having him as a pollen parent is to create seedlings that are nearly just like Libby's Trail, but with more red (since I prefer red over pink). Funny Valentine also has very strong scapes, so I would expect the seedlings to have this trait, too. FV also has a ruffled edge, so it's likely that most or all of the seedlings will have, at a bare minimum, ruffled edge, but I would expect at least some to have the bubbly, nearly-toothy edge. Either way, this is a nice pairing!

24) LIBBY'S TRAIL x MATCHLESS FIRE 28-Jul-15 28-Sep-15 08-Oct-15 5 T $7
See above description for Libby's Trail. As for Matchless Fire, it's a great daylily! The flower's 'face' somehow reminds me of a very alert or eager cartoon rabbit. From the side, the form of Matchless Fire is usually that of a fleur-de-lis. It's a stunning daylily and is one of those cultivars that you can recognize a yard away. Very distinctive, it is one of those flowers everyone should have. It gets a lot of 'oohs' and 'ahhs' from people, and it's easy to see why. This mix of genetics between Libby's Trail and Matchless Fire is likely to produce red-colored babies, but beyond that, it's hard to say what genetic combinations will pop through because they have such different forms and other attributes. I anticipate this being one of the more popular seed packs I'm offering, but we'll see...

25) LIBBY'S TRAIL x SO MANY STARS 16-Jul-15 16-Sep-15 20-Sep-15 23 T $6 SOLD
See above for description of Libby's Trail. So Many Stars is also described above, I believe. SMS brings greater height to the table while Libby's Trail balances out the more slender scapes of So Many Stars. My guess is that this cross will result in pink babies, with or without bubbly edges, with or without dark pink eyes, and with medium-tall scapes. I would also imagine the thick petals of Libby's Trail would improve upon the delicate petals of So Many Stars.

26) MARGO REED INDEED x BECKY LYNN 04-Aug-15 29-Sep-15 08-Oct-15 7 D $7 SOLD
Margo Reed Indeed, a much-desired daylily in recent past, combined with Becky Lynn, something of a classic (and previous Stout Silver Medal winner), should produce some pretty pink babies. Margo Reed Indeed is a near-white with a bit of a yellow or green cast to it and lighter substance. Combined with Becky Lynn, I would expect the babies to have ruffled edge, perhaps more elongated petals than the standard daylily form, and likely a white midrib? I would expect some variation in height on the seedlings' scapes, too.

27) MARGO REED INDEED x JOAN SENIOR 11-Aug-15 05-Oct-15 13-Oct-15 19 D $9
Margo Reed Indeed and Joan Senior are both near-whites whose blooms start out the day with a yellow-green cast to them. Joan Senior's blooms bleach out to a near white very readily, though, moreso, I think, Than Margo Reed Indeed's, and I would love to see that trait passed on to the seedlings. Joan Senior is considered to be one of the whitest whites, and I would agree with that, for the most part, even though the picture doesn't show that.

28) MATCHLESS FIRE x FEAR NOT 19-Jul-15 07-Sep-15 12-Sep-15 6 T $6 SOLD
I expect this will be one of the more popular seed packs I offer in this list. Both have stunning color and are similar enough that it would seem to be easy to predict what the coloring of the offspring would be: red base with a lighter watermark in some shade of pink or peach, I would think. I would expect some eye-popping babies out of this pairing.

See above description.

30) MATCHLESS FIRE x RUBY SPIDER 24-Jul-15 09-Sep-15 16-Sep-15 4 T $4
One of the brightest and one of the cheeriest daylilies, this coupling of genetics should produce a winner or two in its seedlings. This is a combination I intend to repeat again in the future because the possibilities are tantalizing! The only drawback to this pairing is that both parents only have 2-way branching, but Ruby Spider puts out so many scapes in my clump that it doesn't seem like that. (My clump of Matchless Fire is too small to determine how bloomy it is, so the lack of comment on that is not indicative of sparse blooms.) Ruby's scapes all seem to be nearly exactly the same height (whereas in other cultivars, there can be significant scape height variances), which gives her a nice, even look in my garden, something I would hope would be passed down. Just looking at the pictures of these blooms...wow. Good stuff here.
