I bought a NIKON p600 when my other Nikon died. It is very lightweight and fit my style of hobbyist photo taking of plants and wildlife. I don't try to take professional shots, but I like decent shots of vacations, garden photos, and animals. The 60 x works great for me. I also love that I can take a photo and make a short recording of what the photo is about. With my memory this has really been a plus, no notebook and pen necessary. It has good battery life, and fits my style. It is worthless for action shots. Don't expect a point and shoot to take professional looking photos, but there are lots of shots I could not take with a DSLR that I can get with my little P600, because there is no way I could afford a great lens and camera to take distant photos like I can get with my little 60x camera.
