My wife bought this plant at a plant sale - no label - the seller had no idea what it was. It is planted in a very shady spot and has produced this wonderful flower spike. It is under a clematis covered hawthorn and, in this photo, it is the plant in the middle with a fern on the left, hosta on the right and day lilies behind. Should add that the flower spike is about 1.2m tall and the spread of the semi succulent leaves at the base is about 0.75m. The white flowers are pendulus and - the closest I can say is like a handkerchief tree (but much smaller obviously).
