Hey there, I recently started to get a big addiction to plant when I never by the past really cared for it as most of my plants used to die on my watch.
Recently, I created my own medium-big sized terrarium.
with at least 3cm gravels in the bottom, sphagnum moss, charcoal and soil, I only placed moss, three variety of plants chosen in the "loves moisture, no need for direct light" type of plant and built up the whole thing.
Only since then, I'm struggling with the moisture. I sprayed generously when I created it as I didn't know that they barely needed water, and after a while I saw mould starting to appear on the plastic goat I have inside of it. The green type mould, not white fuzzy one.
After reading, I realised that my terrarium was too humid (the glass being always blurred out by condensation) and some of the leaves were rotting too.
So since like 10 days now, I am opening the lid to let the moisture escape and renew the air, but it doesn't seem the change anything. Everytime I close the lid again, in the hours following it goes back to condensation on the glass
My question: is there any way to get rid of the excess humidity so I can finally keep it enclosed and make it self sustainable?
I let it in the sun today for like an hour. it seemed to dry out about a cm of dirt but I removed it to avoid the "hot box" effect. After that, tonight, the condensation was even worst than before.
Advice?
