To all, thanks so much for you input . I appreciate it . I do realize that people have a life outside of allthingsplants .....oops ....I mean Garden.org however proper id of any plant including images is paramount to keeping the right plant in circulation .

The biggest example of how mis-identification creates chaos that I have run into in the 10 plus years I have been growing daylilies is the Magic Dawn/Howdy fiasco . There are many more out there suffering the same fate. Seems everyone knows that Howdy is being sold as Magic Dawn and know it is not Magic Dawn but they continue to sell it as Magic Dawn . Even people that are members of the AHS are doing this . Does it matter that it is registered as a pink daylily ? and that Howdy is not pink ?
I'm afraid that proper id is one of the things I really care about as a daylily grower . A daylily or any other plant really is only as good as it's name . Otherwise , why bother to register a plant and spend money to do it, if someone is only going to misrepresent it and sell it as whatever suits them .
