Welcome! ! I think most of the descriptive terms...neglecta, amoena, etc.....were "borrowed" from species names of iris that displayed those characteristics . In the years since "neglecta" was used as a descriptive term for flowers with that particular color pattern, hybridizing has really stretched the limits on ALL the color patterns. Also, the "white" standards thing is really a misnomer, in that most, if not all, "white" iris really aren't "white"....they are very,very light blue, or lavender....it's hard to see, unless you observe the bud as it starts to open, but, if the flower is in a shady situation, that also makes it more apparent.
