This spring I planted two bare-root roses of the cultivar 'Wedding Bells' from Palatine Roses. This was part of my first experiment with non-Knockout roses that have been evaluated to have high disease resistance without the use of chemicals. I was very pleased with the earliest (June 15) blossoms:

But now (August 5) the blossoms have ugly brown edges, a characteristic that began to show up in July and has gotten worse:

Does anyone know what might be causing the ugly brown edges on the blossoms?
