'it is my opinion now that Emily probably will not dissipate, however, it will slowly strengthen to maybe 50 or 55 mph when it makes landfall in Hispaniola late Wednesday night. It is then expected to weaken and will probably be a tropical depression or barely a tropical storm when it moves back over water late Thursday. I do think we will see strengthening up to hurricane strength as it tracks across the Bahamas late this week into this weekend. I think it is too close to call for the east coast of Florida on whether Emily will impact you; it may be way too close for comfort.'
