She was an English eccentric who inherited a family fortune, created fantastic gardens but would hire only men to work on them, and eventually blew the inheritance. She may have scattered seeds as well...I don't recall the whole story. The gardens are mostly gone now, but there are a number of plants with her name on them. I have a cinquefoil named Miss Willmott, for example.
