I recently purchased some gorgeous daylilies, not realizing that they wouldn't ship until early September. I'm in the Southwestern quarter of Ohio, and our average first frost is in October (dates vary according to which website one consults).
The plants are coming from northern zone 7a, which is not too much different from mine, but still worrisome. Is there anything extra I can do to get these plants established and protected so that they will survive our zone 6a winter?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
