Not sure if this is germane, but I grew commercially offered seeds of Hibiscus coccinea called "Chatooga Gold" a few years ago. My thinking was that perhaps the "Gold" referred to chartreuse foliage. Neither the blooms nor the foliage were gold nor in any way suggested yellow.
The only apparent difference was that the bloom color was pink.


Where did you get it? I can find no reference to it online, other than links back to NGA.
