This advice is not helpful for the succulents that I grow and does not apply to indoor succulents at all. Indoor succulents enjoy regular water year round and there is absolutely no reason to vary the schedule if temperatures inside are mild and stable, and the light is good. The goal is to achieve the important cycle of wet to dry on a consistent basis, and its regularity is quite reliable under controlled conditions.
