Right, the API is what enables the website to function the way it has been doing. The data base, as in plant data base does not have an API. But boy, it would be so neat to have it. It would be almost like fingerprint matching ...post a picture of a leaf or flower or tree, etc., to find out its identity, then all kinds of near matches could be found, narrowing down the search to a few possibles.
