Frillylily, Sorry I have not answered you. New to this site and just found your question. We bought this fountain at Lowes several years ago. We replaced the base with a wash tub last year due to old one leaking. The birds drink and bathe in the top of jugs. Just love it. We paint the jugs each summer to keep them looking good. Becky
