I have had this cultivar for many years and it definitely is a keeper. I have never kept track of bud count but it seems to bloom for a long time. The drought did affect bloom this year. I am sure it will recover and do better next year. It is fertile both ways. It multiplies rather quickly in my zone and when a nice sized clump blooms, it looks very nice.
