A "T"_ is just a fluorescent light tube, usually 48" long, for a light kit....

T12s are the older, fat ones, $
T8s smaller, brighter, $$
T5s, smaller, brightest, $$$$

Look up at your light fixtures at work. Those are probably T5, soft white bulbs.
