Huey is used in zone 5 too. My mom buys and grows many of the same roses I grow (we shop together and enable one another Angel ) and she's in the Kansas City area, zone 5.
Also, she grows them better than I do, maybe because they get more rain. I can tell you that she does not winter protect, unless some leaves just happen to blow up under the roses. She may have a warming affect by being in a neighborhood where I'm exposed out in the country.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
