Anytime there is a puncture wound outdoors ..tetanus should be part of the equation.

It is a good opportunity to eval the status of your immunization anyway.

I stand by my recommendation

Edited to say there are ER doc's that give the vaccine for bee stings if the patient has not had a vaccine administered in as little as 5 years. I had a patient that got it and passed horribly from a peck on the knee from his chicken and it had been a month before he had a symptom
