Just about every article and video I've seen about dividing daylilies tells you to dig out the entire clump first. There is no way I want to do that!!! Is there a good way to just get a few fans from an edge of a clump to give to a friend? Also, is it a bad idea to slice thru the tubers with a garden knife when you do divide them? Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!
