Tiffany, if you look in the NGA database other portulacas have purslane as their common name, including Portulaca umbraticola. That's the problem with common names. If we could see flowers we'd know which it was, or whether Marlei's friend planted them or if they are weeds. I'm not sure that Marlei is still with us though.....
