I too have a non gardening spouse. His hobby of choice is golf. I tried for quite some time to embrace golf, but it just didn't take. I was more intrigued with the course plantings, spoke at the wrong time, walked in the wrong place, and frankly just became bored at about hole #5. He was likewise as disinterested in gardening. We eventually settled on a tit-for-tat approach. When one guy goes to the golf course or nursery, the other guy can spend an equal $$ at their hobby. Voila. Everyone is happy.
