Another idea is to get some Madagascar hissing roaches and feed them on all your vegetable/fruit scraps etc etc they eat everything, you get a nice layer of roach poop for compost, depending on how much you feed them and how many you have, you can get up to a liter of fresh compost out of them each week for your plants.
