I acquired 6 fans of this cultivar in April 2016. It is and continues to be potted up to be transplanted into a raised bed this Fall (soon). It bloomed for me in mid-June. I was not expecting to like it so much, but the color is an amazing deep purple. It is difficult for my camera to photograph it accurately. Here in the heat of summer, it does tend to slick as the day wears on, but I suspect it could do well in a partial shady spot. Which is where I am planning to transplant it.

It is currently at 5 large fans. I don't know what happened to the 6th fan. I didn't take stats on it this year, but here are three photos of it during blooming:

Early morning bloom (in shade) shows the true color:

This close-up shows the even darker color. But it is actually darker than this:

Sunny afternoon bloom shows slicking. Probably would do better in some afternoon shade:
