At my house, I plant asclepias seeds in the garden as soon as they are ripe.
The only asclepias that I've ever had a problem with winter planting is the tropical milkweed.
Theres a number of threads where we discuss the difficulty of growing milkweeds here in the southeast... You will want to plant the like carrots.
