@Metrosideros Dave, I had no idea. I know many nurseries and garden centers around here during the holidays just sell them as "Norfolk Island Pine". I don't currently have one of those plants but I have grown many in the past. At our old house I had 2 potted plants that sat out behind our shed for a few years and ended up taking root in ground and the plastic pots had to be cut away. I gave a neighbor a small plant once that she immediately put in the ground and it grew huge.

We're in the process of hurricane prep so I need to get back outside to secure more stuff but my photos for Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria heterophylla) should probably be moved to the entry for New Caledonian Pine (Araucaria columnaris) Not sure if we'll be without power or for how long once the storm comes through here but when I get back online I'll try to remember to move them over.
