Thanks, everyone for the interest in my story. I am so glad this is a story with a happy ending, it could have turned out differently. I did decide to do some research on this situation, and found out I pretty much did everything the way the experts said to do and that does make it amazing. To all who gave acorns and thumbs up, I am sincerely grateful. I have seen our "Birdie Girl" several times at the feeders now so all seems to be well. I will let you know if she is here during the winter; we worry so much that she will not make it through the cold, but so far for two years we have had a hummer here--just hope the good luck continues if she stays.
