I resisted for several hours, then it turned out to be much easier than I had thought.

Definitely clear everything first.

Consider having just one row, with one or two columns.

Drag everything you're probably going to want into that one box (or those two boxes), then look and see what you want to delete (drag left) or move around.

"Minimal" works fine until you WANT something back.
