Gita, I kept pinching the leaves and didn't allow the basil to bloom till early September. A bit late.
Jill, thanks. I will watch the weather closely. The basil pot has been moved to the south side of the house, right against the wall near the range exhaust vent. That's the warmest spot I could find for the plants.
