Cuttings work best when the plants are in a strong growth period. I'm not seriously doing a lot of cuttings right now,but doing it the lazy way...plopping a few of this and that into water on my windowsill....right now rooted lemon verbena, African Blue basil, salvia elegans / pineapple sage, Rose of Sharon, salvia elegans/ Golden Delicious, White Adriatic fig, have some cuttings of the aloysia virgata and gardenia in water to see if they'll root like that...don't usually root hydrangeas in water, but think I'll cut some tomorrow and see how they do also. I don't need more of the plants,I just can't help myself...lol..

Now you'll be taking cuttings of everything.....lol
I could be wrong...
