I was in my neighbor's yard the other day and there was a really divine scent coming from SOMEwhere, but we couldn't discern the origin. The only plant that was blooming was this beautiful shrub about 10 ft. tall with flowers dropping from draping limbs--much like an angel trumpet. However, the flowers were solid red, about 3-4 in. long, and emitted no scent! The neighbor said it was called a Christmas bell plant, but the only ones I could find with that name were ground plants--like irises. Also, the flowers petals were much like an engine turbine with overlapping leaves that flared out like a skirt and the flowers never opened up like a fuchsia does. Does anybody know what the name of this is? She said I could just stick the cutting into the ground, give it some water, & it would root--but not yet since I only planted it yesterday.

If anybody can help me with this, I would certainly appreciate it. We are just outside of Houston, TX, and still have 80+ degree weather with no rain.
