Finally got a human being in my town on the phone, a realtor friend who knew tons. The whole village has been evacuated. There are two large bodies of water north of us that need to release water to keep the dams in tact. So the whole town may be flooded. Conway, Ashfield, Colrain, .Charlemont, large areas in Buckland (all hilltowns in my area) have flooded downtowns since they are all built around or next to rivers. Brattleboro VT is completely flooded downtown after suffering a devastating downtown fire in May. Roads are closed on Rt 2, many in Greenfield, exit 26 to exit 27 on I91, also 112S. A quilter I know had her store slide off the foundation and travel down the river in my town. Now the wind has picked up so I'm worrying about trees again. Not a fun day in this neck of the woods.
