Hey, that's the kind of tub we took our Saturday night baths in and I'm not joking. We'd boil many pots of water on the stove and pour into the galvanized tub for our baths. Mama also used that same tub for her rinse water when she washed clothes. It would sit up on a tall stool that probably my Father built, next to the wringer washer.
Did you ever use a big old oil drum for an outdoor shower? One time my brother built this outdoor shower stall for us behind the pump house and how he hoisted that empty oil drum up there, I'll never know. He'd install some type of shower head on it and you'd have to pull the rope that would release the water to get your shower. The hot NC Sun heated the water for us..We had a soap dish and wash rag rack installed in that "make shift " outdoor shower. Boy,Those were the good ole days!
Speaking of a pump house, did you ever have to prime a water pump? Just" taking a trip down Memory Lane."
