I'm working hardily on perennial planting for next year. I've been out prepping ground for a wonderful shipment of plants from Santa Rosa. They had a terrific sale and I overloaded on various types of Gaillardia, Cardinal flower, and Coreopsis. What a well put together shipment! I'm very pleased.

I wanted to get them in today and worked on it yesterday and today some but it started raining early afternoon and that is expected to continue into mid-day tomorrow. That's okay because it has been so dry that I watered almost all day yesterday while getting compost ready and prepping ground, just to get the spade in there and turn it. I did some and by this morning the ground was drying out again. I am just hoping we get another month or so of warm weather and sun so that they can establish for next year.

I am also still expecting about 260 spring and summer bulbs and some daylilies. They should arrive this coming week. I hope the ground stays softened, my paws already ache!
