I had to reread this story today after being interrupted last night. I really enjoyed it. Sharon, I think you would have been a perfect playmate for me as a child. I was always pushing my mother's buttons, but without even realizing it. I had a favorite aunt also, but she introduced me to music, books, and ballet. I was a bit of a tomboy when I was little.

We had a volunteer goldenrod pop up in the front yard about ten years ago, and I can' tell you how many neighbors complained about it. It was really tall and striking, about three stalks against our white limestone house. It disappeared one day and I figured someone "removed" it, thinking it was ragweed. I hadn't thought about it in a long time. I had so many plants crammed in those beds in the front yard, I didn't really miss it. I'm going to find another one and plant it in the backyard.
